During this show, we will demonstrate Moldex3D’s simulation capabilities including the latest R14 features, the automation of BLM mesh generation, etc., and showcase our successful case studies in assisting our customers to overcome their product design and manufacturing challenges. In addition to the exhibition, Moldex3D will also be presenting our recent study on an increasing growing molding application, 「co-injection molding」 in this year’s technical conference in amerimold 2016.

Abstract: The core penetration and flow balance control problems of co-injection molding are very difficult to manage, especially in a multi-cavity setting. In this presentation, the dynamic behavior of core-material penetration in multi-cavity co-injection molding is reviewed using CAE simulations. The results show that the length of core-material penetration in such a system is strongly dependent on material, geometrical design and process conditions. The results also show a good agreement between simulation and experiments.
