18:00 – 19:00 | Gas injection and Rapid Temperature Cycling ( RTC technology) Developed in the early 1980’s Gas Assisted Molding (GAM) has revolutionized the design and manufacture of plastic molded products. The process is now firmly established as an essential component of the global injection molding industry. Rapid temperature cycling (RTC), also referred to as variothermal moulding, rapid heat cycle moulding or heat and cool, has bucked this trend. Developed in the mid 2000s and commercialized in 2007, the technology has already become a well established process technology in the consumer electronics industry for LCD TV production and is rapidly gaining applications in other market segments such as automotive and personal care. |
